One: We’re leaving for my family’s beach house tomorrow! I can’t wait to see everyone’s faces and be near water and eat food prepared by someone else’s loving hands.
Two: Lately, we’ve been staying up til the middle of the night talking, making homemade spaghetti after church while pretending it’s fall, watching lots of movies on the floor of our cozy apartment, and forgetting to take pictures of any of it, all with friends.

I loved my childhood. If you asked me what things make a childhood great, I would list the following (all major parts of my early years):
-Porches. Preferably with wooden porch swings and some animals running around.
-Trees. A kid needs a good climbing tree where they can pretend, read, giggle, and spy on or surprise the neighbors.
-Bicycles. Training wheels, denim jumpers, and bare feet optional.
-Books. Some of my favorite feelings of nostalgia come from memories of reading (in a tree, before bed, in the pool, on the porch, in the car…if you know someone who is under 13, please go make them read Nancy Drew and the Babysitter’s Club. Please.)
-Siblings. None of these things would have been as good without my sisters.

Scanning some old family pictures that my parents gave me last weekend. I love them all and can’t wait to share more.
Aren’t my parents total babes?
