Lately I have time to bake and make and read.
Today I found out I got good grades in all my classes this semester.
I woke up before the sun and finished this addictive book.
Tonight we are decorating our Christmas tree and going on a date.
Even though it’s kind of annoying that I can wear short sleeves when Christmas is so close, we are having the best weather for taking a morning walk (or an evening walk, a midday walk…).
And when I’m an emotional wreck, Jeff goes with the flow and even manages to cheer me up.
I like him.
P.S. Pictures from my morning walk.

This weekend was especially good because:
We walked to a wonderful place and shared an enormous cinnamon roll slathered with cream cheese & raisins The park was bustling because there was a marathon going on I found a little owl for $4 at an antique store after church. We had baked potatoes topped with homemade chili two nights in a row (and we made these brownies, and we bought Christmas cookie ice cream !!)
I was a good student and got more homework done than I thought possible between all of those fun things. And the weather is still treating me oh so right.

because with all that’s going on in the world…
the full size bed that jeff and i share suddenly seems like a luxury.
the fact that it is almost spring but already feels like summer seems like something to be thankful for instead of complain about (even when the air in my car doesn’t work).
i appreciate things like grocery shopping/browsing with jeff. we always end up with treats (like coffee ice cream + edy’s thin mint) when he’s with me.
it feels amazing to be able to walk on warm bricks with my bare feet.
p.s. reading through these has also been making me very happy.
I’m sick. Other than that though, I’ve been having a really good week for a few reasons.
Jeff has been taking care of me. He made me soup and bought me two bags of Ricola cough drops and coffee ice cream.
It’s January and it’s been about sixty degrees outside. Perfect for bundled strolling.
I am getting to know myself a little better lately. It’s nice to see that my procrastination, indecisiveness, laziness, mood swings, over-thinking, and disappointment over dumb things are all caused by the one thing: I’m a perfectionist. Now that I know the root problem I can change it! I can already feel a difference in the tiniest of decisions I’ve started making.
AND, this weekend I am going back home to be in a friend’s wedding, then stopping in Wilmington to see my big sister, and then to Asheville to visit my family again! I’m hoping that I will not die on the road.
